Wow, time has gone by so fast and I am so behind on my blog. We have been a busy little family.
Birthday's, weddings, and funerals…….We had fun at a couple of birthday parties. I have been so bad with taking pictures, so none of the birthday boy and girl, but I do have a picture of my kids from one party. The party was a 1st Birthday for one of their buddies and it was really cute. It was a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme, and was one of the cutest parties I have ever been to. The next birthday party was for a little girl who was turning 4. It was a big deal. They was a dj and she was wearing her long dress. I think they even killed a goat and cooked it for the party. (yes it was for one of our Latino friends). Ranita and I also got to go to a Sweet 16. It was a very sweet party. We have found that our dates have become weddings, birthday parties, and funerals. But at each of the events we realize how important life is and how thankful we are for our lives together. And we remember to cherish every second.
We had a visit from my college roommate and her family. They always come for Alabama’s Homecoming and spend the weekend with us, but this year they came a little earlier. They had fun playing with Marlee, Abigail, and Riley.
Viva Mexico! We celebrated Mexican Independence day. I forgot about it, and when I remember, I had to run out to the grocery store during Alabama’s halftime and throw together an impromptu party. We got a picture shopping, but none from the party. I told you I have gotten bad at taking pictures.
I was given a membership to the zoo for my birthday, so we have been making use of it. One Saturday morning, my mom and I took David and Victoria to the zoo. They had so much fun looking at the animals. David loves to growl when he sees lions and tigers. When we got to the Lion’s den, one of them came down off his rock and sat down right in front of David and Victoria. They both were growling and very excited. Then we moved on to the tiger and he kept coming up to the window right in front of David and Victoria and walking around. They didn’t want to leave, so finally the tiger got tired and went and sat down, so we could leave his home. They got to ride the merry go round for the first time. No…I didn’t get any pictures from their first merry go round ride, but it is very hard to take pictures when you have the same amount of adults as you do babies. We also tried out Boo at the Zoo. They seemed to love looking at the decorations. They had their second ride on the Merry go round. They seemed confused because this time it was going backwards. We did get some pictures this time. We also went to the petting area and that was a big hit with David and Victoria. But the biggest hit of the night was some light sticks that we got them. They didn’t want to put them down.
Ranita and I have started teaching an English as a Second Language class. They had a cookout and we had a good time. All David likes to do when at places is walk. And yes, he fell while I was following him and got his first boo boo. It was very visible on his nose. It didn’t phase him. I wiped off the blood and he was ready to go again.
I love the fall, and that is one of our favorite times to camp, so we went on a camping trip. We didn’t have time to go very far, so we went to Oak Mountain. We had a really good time. We were planning on staying Saturday night, too, but we saw rain in the forecast, so we decided to pack up and go on back on Saturday evening. David and Victoria had a fun time riding in their wagon, and on the bike with their daddy. We also took them up to a field and let David free to walk as much as he wanted.
I try to buy most of their clothes at consignment sales. I thought I would try to sale a few things this year. My husband doesn’t think it is worth the work to sale it for the money you make. I had mom, dad, Stacey and Ranita all involved. I told him it isn’t about the money. It is so I can get in early to shop. I found some great things. Thankfully, my sister-in-law gives Victoria some hand me downs from Anna and Charity, so I really just have to buy for David. I was very excited. I found some things to coordinate for them.
It is that time again for pupusas at the soccer field. We have so much fun at this soccer field. Ranita has cut down on the teams that he is on this season. It has gone from 4-1. But we still go and have dinner at the soccer field on Sunday afternoons. If you are wondering pupusas are a food from El Salvador. After we eat, we let David and Victoria go down to the bottom soccer field and run and walk until they are worn out. (maybe mom and dad wear out first.) We even let them try out the slide for the first time the other day. David loves to go down the slide, but his real favorite was climbing back up it.
We also went to the AGAPE revival. It was a lot of fun. They had it outside and they had a time of praise and worship, then a group of ladies out of Mexico that preformed for the kids. David and Victoria enjoyed time in the swing and walking, as well as they loved the live music. They ended the afternoon with grilled out hot dogs and hamburgers.
Fiesta 2012 was this past weekend. We had a good time with face painting and live music and Folk dancing. Oh and the food was really good. We got Peruvian food. David found a dog that he loved and have I mention that he likes to walk. He was all over the place. He would run, stop and dance for minute, then run so more. This female policeman even danced with him a little. Victoria took 2 steps by herself, so she is getting ready to walk. Boy..we will be in trouble then. We have a friend that is going to start spending the weekends with us. We have found that 2 babies out number 2 adults.
Sweet pictures!! You guys have been on the go!
