MIA

So we have noticed lately that things are disappearing.  Usually Ranita gets the blame for it, but now he has someone that he can pass the blame to.  Now my 3 black sweaters that have been missing since they went to the laundry is still a mystery to me.  I really think Ranita had something to do with that, but at least he was doing the laundry.

We have a bucket that is used with our popup.  It got brought into the house the last time we were camping and we noticed that David took possession of it.  This bucket is almost the size of him.  But he did finally make it to 20 pounds in 14 months.  He was 20 pounds and 12 ounces the other day at his doctor's appointment.  They didn't weigh Victoria, but she is usually 3-4 pounds less than him.  Back to the bucket.  He loves this bucket.  He will push it around with him.

I looked in it one day to see what was in it, and I found some very interesting stuff.  I found a toy banana, a real banana, some powered sugar, a sock, a piece of mail, and a dish cloth.  See I had gone grocery shopping last week and was putting up the groceries.  I noticed that David would appear and disappear quickly.  He was sneaking out groceries before I could put them up.  So the bucket had the powered sugar.

I found a can of veggies in another room.  However, I was doing a Halloween snack that called for a can of icing that is still MIA.  I have looked everywhere.  I did find all my missing mail in a drawer.  I can't figure out how he is reaching these items, because they are pretty high up, but I guess he has his ways.  Victoria is starting to want to sneak stuff away, but she isn't quite fast enough yet.  So still to find are my dad's calendar, dad's wedding ring and who knows what else.  So if you come to my house, beware.  Keep a tight hold on your stuff.  I think we have found that 2 one year old babies out number 2 getting older by the second adults.

We made it

We had a long couple of weeks.  Between both babies teething, colds and David getting a virus, not much sleep in the Tapia household.  It was amazing the amount of patience that we had with the constant crying/screaming or the impossible to make happy babies.  This has been the first time that both babies were sick at the same time, but we still kept Victoria from getting the virus.  We used clorox on everything thing that you could use it on in the house, but it was a nice deep cleaning time.  Last week we finally started getting back to a normal week, and this week, Ranita and I have been able to go to bed a little earlier and actually sleep the entire night again.  Last weekend was a much slower weekend for most of the family.  I had to work, but at least that gives me a day to spend with my babies and nieces on Friday.  Looking forward to it.

Time Flies When You Are Having Fun

Wow, time has gone by so fast and I am so behind on my blog.  We have been a busy little family.

Birthday's, weddings, and funerals…….We had fun at a couple of birthday parties.  I have been so bad with taking pictures, so none of the birthday boy and girl, but I do have a picture of my kids from one party.  The party was a 1st Birthday for one of their buddies and it was really cute.  It was a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme, and was one of the cutest parties I have ever been to.  The next birthday party was for a little girl who was turning 4.  It was a big deal.  They was a dj and she was wearing her long dress.  I think they even killed a goat and cooked it for the party.  (yes it was for one of our Latino friends).   Ranita and I also got to go to a Sweet 16.  It was a very sweet party.  We have found that our dates have become weddings, birthday parties, and funerals.  But at each of the events we realize how important life is and how thankful we are for our lives together.  And we remember to cherish every second.

We had a visit from my college roommate and her family.  They always come for Alabama’s Homecoming and spend the weekend with us, but this year they came a little earlier.  They had fun playing with Marlee, Abigail, and Riley.

Viva Mexico!  We celebrated Mexican Independence day.  I forgot about it, and when I remember, I had to run out to the grocery store during Alabama’s halftime and throw together an impromptu party.  We got a picture shopping, but none from the party.  I told you I have gotten bad at taking pictures.

I was given a membership to the zoo for my birthday, so we have been making use of it.  One Saturday morning, my mom and I took David and Victoria to the zoo.  They had so much fun looking at the animals.  David loves to growl when he sees lions and tigers.  When we got to the Lion’s den, one of them came down off his rock and sat down right in front of David and Victoria.  They both were growling and very excited.  Then we moved on to the tiger and he kept coming up to the window right in front of David and Victoria and walking around.  They didn’t want to leave, so finally the tiger got tired and went and sat down, so we could leave his home.  They got to ride the merry go round for the first time.  No…I didn’t get any pictures from their first merry go round ride, but it is very hard to take pictures when you have the same amount of adults as you do babies.    We also tried out Boo at the Zoo.  They seemed to love looking at the decorations.  They had their second ride on the Merry go round.  They seemed confused because this time it was going backwards.  We did get some pictures this time.  We also went to the petting area and that was a big hit with David and Victoria.  But the biggest hit of the night was some light sticks that we got them.  They didn’t want to put them down.

Ranita and I have started teaching an English as a Second Language class.  They had a cookout and we had a good time.  All David likes to do when at places is walk.  And yes, he fell while I was following him and got his first boo boo.  It was very visible on his nose.   It didn’t phase him.  I wiped off the blood and he was ready to go again.

I love the fall, and that is one of our favorite times to camp, so we went on a camping trip.  We didn’t have time to go very far, so we went to Oak Mountain.  We had a really good time.   We were planning on staying Saturday night, too, but we saw rain in the forecast, so we decided to pack up and go on back on Saturday evening.  David and Victoria had a fun time riding in their wagon, and on the bike with their daddy.  We also took them up to a field and let David free to walk as much as he wanted.

I try to buy most of their clothes at consignment sales.  I thought I would try to sale a few things this year.  My husband doesn’t think it is worth the work to sale it for the money you make.  I had mom, dad, Stacey and Ranita all involved.  I told him it isn’t about the money.  It is so I can get in early to shop.  I found some great things.  Thankfully,  my sister-in-law gives Victoria some hand me downs from Anna and Charity, so I really just have to buy for David.  I was very excited.  I found some things to coordinate for them.

It is that time again for pupusas at the soccer field.  We have so much fun at this soccer field.  Ranita has cut down on the teams that he is on this season.  It has gone from 4-1.  But we still go and have dinner at the soccer field on Sunday afternoons.  If you are wondering pupusas are a food from El Salvador.  After we eat, we let David and Victoria go down to the bottom soccer field and run and walk until they are worn out.  (maybe mom and dad wear out first.) We even let them try out the slide for the first time the other day.  David loves to go down the slide, but his real favorite was climbing back up it.
We also went to the AGAPE revival.  It was a lot of fun. They had it outside and they had a time of praise and worship, then a group of ladies out of Mexico that preformed for the kids.  David and Victoria enjoyed time in the swing and walking, as well as they loved the live music. They ended the afternoon with grilled out hot dogs and hamburgers.
Fiesta 2012 was this past weekend.  We had a good time with face painting and live music and Folk dancing.  Oh and the food was really good.  We got Peruvian food.  David found a dog that he loved and have I mention that he likes to walk.  He was all over the place.  He would run, stop and dance for minute, then run so more.  This female policeman even danced with him a little.   Victoria took 2 steps by herself, so she is getting ready to walk.  Boy..we will be in trouble then.  We have a friend that is going to start spending the weekends with us.  We have found that 2 babies out number 2 adults.

Off to the pumpkin patch.  Have I mentioned that David likes to walk everywhere?  I couldn’t get him to be still for a picture.  Victoria found her pumpkin and she refused to let it go.   David was too busy walking to stop and pick out his pumpkin.  We ended the time there with some playtime in the hay.  Maybe that is why I have itchy eyes and a runny nose now.

Victoria now has 4 teeth and David has around 6.  He won’t stop long enough for us to look.  I think their favorite words right now are dog and ball.  They both love to go to the backyard and swing and they get to see the neighbor’s dog.  We are enjoying our evening wagon or stroller rides since the weather is so pleasant.   We put up the tunnel and tent that was passed down from Anna and Charity.  David and Victoria spend a lot of time laughing and playing in it together.  They got some play food and a dump truck and car and they love to haul around the food.    They both love books.  They like to be read to and like to read to you.  I finally got some of the No David books, but Victoria seemed to not like it when I was reading about David to her.  So I just change the name to Victoria when I read it.  I am going to have to write some books or find some that have her name in them to.  Based on my nephew there is a children’s writer named Rhonda Reeves that is quiet successful.  I tried to tell him that was really me, but he didn’t seem to believe me.

One year old picture
Sunday afternoons have become a cherished time for me.  We go to church and then the soccer field in the evening, so the afternoon is family time.  We all get in the playroom and turn on a family movie and spend time together.  I love that we are able to take some time to just be together and enjoy each other.  All the going and doing in the world is nothing to the time we have to just be together.  I truly am blessed with a wonderful husband and babies.  I love them all so much.

Now I am all caught up.  We are having so much fun watching David and Victoria experience things for the first time.  They get so excited and we are so blessed to have such happy babies.  We really do enjoy being with them, and I can’t wait every day until I get home from work so I can spend time with my babies.  The other day, I was trying to do dishes  and clean, but David wanted to be held.  I decided that he is growing so fast that holding him was more important.  I heard a a funeral the other day that making memories is so important.  That is what I am doing..Making memories.
