Fun

So this week, I have been giving a little of my food to the babies to feed to themselves.  One night they tried mac and cheese, and they both loved it.  Last night they had black beans and they were upset when I wouldn't give them more.

I also let them try out their new cups that I got them with straws.  Victoria figured it out right off, David it took a little longer.  I also got them some snack bowls.  David figured it out first.  They both loved their new items.

So, I wanted to be ahead of the game, so I went ahead and bought what I wanted to give them for their birthday next month.  However, they found it before I got it put up.  They had a good time playing with their birthday present.  I must say, their daddy liked it as much as they did.  (maybe they thought they get a birthday present for their mom's birthday, which is why they opened it already. :)

Now you see it...

Now you don't..Demolition David struck again

I did this all by myself

I didn't do it...

This week, we also got to celebrate the birthday of "Aunt" Kara.  The babies didn't make it til the cupcakes were served.  We thought that might be best, since we were decorating our own cupcakes.

Birthday's and Festivals

Our weekend started off celebrating Anna and Charity's thrid birthday.  They had a Arial Swimming Party.  I decided that mommy and daddy might get too wet for them to swim with the girls, so we just watched.

David, doing what he loves (Granddaddy says it's in his blood) :)

Later that afternoon we decided to go to Alabaster's City Fest.  We heard a few bands and ended with Lonestar.  We took a blanket and some toys and had a really good time.  We were excited because Sunday night we were going to go to Railroad park to hear family night with the Alabama Symphony, but we were very sad that it ended up getting cancelled due to the storm.

I love my "mum-mum" Bars

Me, too.

I think I will nap between bands.

We took pjs, so when they got home..off to bed.

Recoveries, Graduation, hair cuts and fun all in one

Wow, how fast May has gone by.  We started out May with our 9 month check ups.  David weighed around 18 pounds and Victoria around 15.  He is in the 25 percentile and she is in the 5 percentile.

Now the babies doctor appointments were over it was time for my surgery.  So my sister-in-law decided to have a Mother's day celebration the night before since this was my first mother's day and I was going to be recovering.  Somehow I didn't get pictures of my parents or my brother's family, but I did get one of our family.

So now we made it to surgery day.  The surgery was supposed to take an hour and ended up taking 3 hours, but all went well.  Just one night in the hospital and 2 weeks of recovery and I was back in business.  The worst part was not being able to pick up my babies.

Right after surgery.  I didn't like the drain much. :)

2 weeks later.

So I got home on Saturday and Sunday was Mother's day.  My husband was so kind to bring me breakfast in bed and my mom and dad brought flowers and my niece gave me a frame with my family picture she took at Easter in it.  I am so blessed by my family, all of it.

Next up for the month was celebrating my nephew who just graduated from Spain Park.  I am so proud of him.  He is such a blessing.  I am proud that David has a cousin that is a great example for him to look up too.  And the best news....he is going to Alabama just like his mom, dad and most importantly his Aunt Rhonda. :)  Our first celebration was a luncheon at his church.  Then there was graduation and after we had a get together at mom and dad's house.

The decorations for the family get together was sayings from the Dr. Seuss book Oh, the Places You Will Go, will pictures through the years.  Cason's Aunt Kay got to come and be a part of this celebration as well.

They got a little special treatment.  They got to eat before everyone else got there.

Cason had lots of help opening his gifts.

Thanks Grandmommy and Granddaddy

He makes a pretty good bed.

David had fun playing with Anna and Charity at the party

So now my medical restriction was off.  First order of business...change V's diaper.  I had it changed and was hooking her carseat when what did I realize.......I put her new diaper on top of her old diaper.  So back to the changing table we went.  After all diapers where changed, we headed off to the zoo with Aunt Nancy, Anna and Charity.  After the zoo, we went back to grandmommy and granddaddy's house for some more play time.

We went to the sprinklers at the zoo.  V slept during the water time.  But David had fun.  My sister in law got most of the pictures from the zoo trip.

Who needs toys when you have newspaper?

The next day, we went and had some pool time with their "Aunt" Stacey.

Then there was memorial day.  D and V put on their patriotic bathing suits and we headed off to Splash Adventure.  They had a good time.

So now it was time for David's "First Official" haircut.  You may remember that Ranita cut it one day when I was work a while back.  Well, it was now time for a full on haircut.

Daddy and Granddaddy had to get haircuts, too.

I know this is a long one.  But here are a few more pictures of us during May.

V's favorite toy.

Now that he is crawing he will tell us when he is ready to go out.

Victoria's favorite place to sleep.
