Busy weekend November 9

We had a busy weekend. Ranita had to work, so Stacey and I went to take David, Victoria and her niece to McWain Center. We had a great time. (except David in the aquarium area). I am not sure what has made David so full of fear lately, but once we got away from the fish he was happy.

That night we went to see our friends new baby Eva.  Laura's sister was there helping out with the new baby, so we had a little celebration for her birthday.  David and Ethan loved the noise makers.  Then we finished off the evening with a little football.

The next couple of days we were on the road for a funeral, so we took some time to take some pictures while we were out.  I am still learning all the settings on my camera, so we had some little photo shoots.  One day the babies weren't with us (thank you Stacey for keeping them), so Ranita was my model.  The next day we had the babies.  With Ranita we were in Muscle Shoals, and when we had the babies, we stopped off at Cheerokee Rock City and Noccalula Falls.  Victoria was not in to having pictures made at the falls, but other times she was more into it.  I think the favorite thing that we did was find a little train car by the road.  David did not want to leave the train.  He he kept posing and asking me to take pictures of him.

I asked for a smile and this is what I got

If looks could kill

So this past weekend, Ranita and I both worked, so a pretty uneventful weekend.  Thanks to Hannah and Kara for taking care of David and Victoria for us.  I got home about 30 minutes before Ranita and the kids, so I had a quick little surprise for them.  They have been asking to put up the tree, so I put the ones up in their rooms.  Victoria's was the same tree she had last year and was pink with princess ornaments.  David's was an Alabama tree last year, so I traded out the ornaments for Cars this year.  David was so excited about his tree and he asked for pictures.  Victoria was sleepy and didn't want to have anything to do with her tree or camera.  Here are a few pictures that David wanted.

He had to kiss everyone one of Lightning McQueen and Mater

Learning to use my camera

I have been trying to learn how to use my camera.  Ranita got off work early, so he met me to pick up the kids from school and we went to walk around Aldridge Gardens then ended it with some chips and salsa at Amigos.  It was a nice evening.

Dia de los muertos

I want the twins to know about both cultures, so we try to participate in what we can. The majority of Ranita's family doesn't really participate in Dia de los muertos, but we wanted them to know about it, what it is, and the meaning behind it. So we saw that there was a festival down town. After I got off work, we dressed the twins in their skeleton pjs and headed out. It was neat to see the displays and I think they like the lights. There was a parade that we got to see from the bridge and their was live music. I think my favorite part was watching Ranita and the twins dancing. They were laughing and having a really good time. And I loved see that Ranita didn't care who was around, but that he was totally in the moment with the twins-dancing and laughing....celebrating. With all the skeletons, and memorials around us, they were celebrating and enjoying life. It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen! He is a great father, and I hope we always remember to not worry about who is around, but to enjoy our time with our 2 precious gifts to the fullest.
