Recoveries, Graduation, hair cuts and fun all in one

Wow, how fast May has gone by.  We started out May with our 9 month check ups.  David weighed around 18 pounds and Victoria around 15.  He is in the 25 percentile and she is in the 5 percentile.

Now the babies doctor appointments were over it was time for my surgery.  So my sister-in-law decided to have a Mother's day celebration the night before since this was my first mother's day and I was going to be recovering.  Somehow I didn't get pictures of my parents or my brother's family, but I did get one of our family.

So now we made it to surgery day.  The surgery was supposed to take an hour and ended up taking 3 hours, but all went well.  Just one night in the hospital and 2 weeks of recovery and I was back in business.  The worst part was not being able to pick up my babies.

Right after surgery.  I didn't like the drain much. :)

2 weeks later.

So I got home on Saturday and Sunday was Mother's day.  My husband was so kind to bring me breakfast in bed and my mom and dad brought flowers and my niece gave me a frame with my family picture she took at Easter in it.  I am so blessed by my family, all of it.

Next up for the month was celebrating my nephew who just graduated from Spain Park.  I am so proud of him.  He is such a blessing.  I am proud that David has a cousin that is a great example for him to look up too.  And the best news....he is going to Alabama just like his mom, dad and most importantly his Aunt Rhonda. :)  Our first celebration was a luncheon at his church.  Then there was graduation and after we had a get together at mom and dad's house.

The decorations for the family get together was sayings from the Dr. Seuss book Oh, the Places You Will Go, will pictures through the years.  Cason's Aunt Kay got to come and be a part of this celebration as well.

They got a little special treatment.  They got to eat before everyone else got there.

Cason had lots of help opening his gifts.

Thanks Grandmommy and Granddaddy

He makes a pretty good bed.

David had fun playing with Anna and Charity at the party

So now my medical restriction was off.  First order of business...change V's diaper.  I had it changed and was hooking her carseat when what did I realize.......I put her new diaper on top of her old diaper.  So back to the changing table we went.  After all diapers where changed, we headed off to the zoo with Aunt Nancy, Anna and Charity.  After the zoo, we went back to grandmommy and granddaddy's house for some more play time.

We went to the sprinklers at the zoo.  V slept during the water time.  But David had fun.  My sister in law got most of the pictures from the zoo trip.

Who needs toys when you have newspaper?

The next day, we went and had some pool time with their "Aunt" Stacey.

Then there was memorial day.  D and V put on their patriotic bathing suits and we headed off to Splash Adventure.  They had a good time.

So now it was time for David's "First Official" haircut.  You may remember that Ranita cut it one day when I was work a while back.  Well, it was now time for a full on haircut.

Daddy and Granddaddy had to get haircuts, too.

I know this is a long one.  But here are a few more pictures of us during May.

V's favorite toy.

Now that he is crawing he will tell us when he is ready to go out.

Victoria's favorite place to sleep.

It's beginning to look a lot like summer.....

So we did it!  We got brave and took the babies camping at the beach.  I am not talking about camping like we camp with mom and dad, but full on tent and cooking over the fire camping.  We all had a great time.  The babies seemed to love the beach and sand.  David even faced planted it into the sand.  When I lifted him up only to see nothing but globs of sand in his eyes, mouth and nose, he started laughing and thought it was the funniest thing ever.  Here are some pictures from our beach trip.
"Mine must not taste as good as his..."

This was David's favorite thing to do at the beach.  Sleep and eat puffs.

Dressed and ready to go to the beach

Saturday, Cinco de Mayo, we got a phone call from mom and dad, telling us that there is a yard sale across the street and we should come check it out.  We got a double stroller, a new toy and a pool for "grandmommy and granddaddy's house."  So we had to try out the pool.

Let me see how she taste.

Since I can't eat her, I guess I will just hug her

We had to have our Cinco de Mayo photo shoot. :)  And yes, Raul is Mexican and no we didn't have a bite of Mexican food for Cinco de Mayo.  Oops.

And finally here is our 9 month photo.  Some things about us now.  We love puffs.  David will say "Hey" when you speak to him.  Victoria will give you 5.  David has learned to pull up and loves to stand up.  Victoria is starting to sit up more.  David has gotten up on all fours and is ready to crawl, but usually decides scooting is much easier for now. Tomorrow is our 9 month check up.  We can see how much we weigh.

Playing photographer for a day

Today was a beautiful day.  My friend Stacey, Nancy, her twins and my twins went for a stroll at Aldridge Gardens.  Stacey and I made a little photo session for the babies to get some good 8 month old photos.  I can't wait to see Stacey's pictures.  Here are a few of mine.
